GW Bush took out Saddam Hussein and his military, which destabilized the whole region. You’re entitled to your opinions but get you facts straight Harley.

Ramirez conveniently forgets Bush’s cluelessness before 9/11; forgets who captured and eliminated bin Laden; forgets who continues to eliminate jiihadi terrorist leaders in Africa and the Mid-East. Is Ramirez a cartoonist or an illusionist?

    About Michael Ramirez

Two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Michael Ramirez combines an encyclopedic knowledge of the news with a captivating drawing style to create consistently outstanding editorial cartoons.

“Editorial cartoons should be smart and substantive, provocative and informative. They should stir passions and deep emotions. Editorial cartoons should be the catalyst for thought, and frankly speaking, if you can make politicians think, that is an accomplishment in itself.”

keep up your comments – maybe he’ll get a 3rd

“Reality check”: “BREAKING NEWS”!!! A 19 year old woman was arrested in the U.K. because she was SUSPECTED of planning a terrorist act. THAT is the reality of Ramirez’s and others “image” of the terrorist threat. GRANTED McViegh and Nichols, Kazinski, Eric Rudolph (Atlanta bomber-people forget) and other “lone wolf” bad actors can cause damage, like the nuts at Columbine, Newtown, Aurora, Tampa, or Zimmerman. The reality is, we need to put these in PERSPECTIVE, not PANIC!

The best bit in response to this idotic ’toon image of fear was Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford ad-libbing off script) pulling his pistol and shooting the sword wielding “terrorist” between the eyes. His answer was he had terrible diarhea and needed to wrap the scene. Hmm, that IS also a summation of all this diarhea that forms the basis of 90% of the “war on terror”.

Maybe it’s time we re-write the script, and get off the one written by the MIC and their supporters? (Or that key religious doctrine that split and is now driving all the hate.)

Yes, yes according to you lefties, everything is America’s fault. This liberal line of trying to make victims out of ISLAMIC terrorists is pathetic and just plain stupid. If America is such a horrible country & is at fault for all of the world’s ills, please feel free to leave. No one is making you stay. I’m sure Isis or some other radical Muslim group would welcome your guilty, apologizing attitude.

@HarleyquinnSo, Condi Rice isn’t on record stating that President Bush ignored the CIA warnings about bin Laden that she tried to give to President Bush?

Anyway, it’s hard to carry on a discussion when we disagree about the simple facts.

Saddam, as ruthless as he was, was no threat to the west. He kept Al Qaida out of Iraq. If we had not taken him out, dispersed his military and destabilized the country, there would have been no need for a US occupation or American blood spilled. Cheney and his friends in the “Project for a New American Century” think tank, got this country into a war to take over Saddam’s oil fields. Big profits for Haliburton, KBR, Blackwater and friends of the administration under no bid contracts. When Bush and Cheney left office this country’s finances were in the toilet. The mess they left in Iraq has no easy solutions but fewer American lives are at risk today.

ISIS is not Islamic?? Really?? Tell that to all the Christians they have killed & confiscated their property. Looks like factual accuracy isn’t your strong suite.

If you are going to make statements, at least base then in reality, not liberal la-la land. And really what is it about liberals that they cannot bring themselves to admit, or even utter, that the ISLAMIC STATE & Al Queda are Islamic??? Their ultimate goal is to unite the entire world under sharia law.

feverjr: If the United States is still around in 100 years, or even if not; the Bush invasion of Iraq, against his own father’s experience, will be classed as the STUPIDEST THING IN U.S. HISTORY. The stupidest, dumbest, and WORST president WILL be George W. Bush. (Unless his smarter but crookeder brother gets in, maybe.)

bin Laden’s objective was to make Americans afraid of everythiing, anything, and quake in their boots like cowards, with the right wingnuts, he definitely succeeded. Hmm need to go to that RNC meeting to get a few bags of chicken ferilizer for my garden next spring, but really don’t need that many truckloads.

Islam is the worlds second largest religion. It believes in the same god as Judaism and Christianity. However, the Jews do not recognize Christ but the Muslims revere Him as the Messenger of God.

^Which is why “Christian fundamentalists” supporting Israel now matter how illegal, and imoral, the actions of Likud and Netanyhu are, confuses me. Islam honors Jesus, while Jews deny him, and killed him.(Long before Mohammed’s time however.) That’s NOT an anti-Semitic observation btw before anyone gets bent, it’s just an observation of historical fact.

BTW: I love my country, and am willing to criticize when idiots like “W” and staff are screwing up. An associtate used that “leave it” crud on me, and I pointed out I DID leave, to fight for my country in Viet Nam and Cambodia. My son spent 13 years in fighting for our country in Iraq, Bosnia, and elsewhere. That associate I mentioned was secod generation in America from Italy, listens constantly to Limbaugh, which makes him go nuts every morning, and neither he, nor any member of his family has ever served in our mlitary, Vista, or Peace Corps to defend our country, leaving it up to us “liberals” to carry the load, unlike Rush, W, Cheney, or any of their key “advisors” who had cysts, or just “spinal problems” (yellow).
