I had a 7th grade Social Studies teacher that this actually worked on. Just get him talking about “…when I was your age” and you were done for the day.

If he’s smart enough to know what “filibuster” is at that age, he’s smart enough to do his homework.

We had a chubby married couple teaching at my high school, turns out in their younger days he was an All American Quarterback and she was a beauty queen. We could get him on a tangent for the rest of the day but not her.

I love watching Schulz’s talent develop. This is a classic “Peanuts” style cartoon. Some day, it will be Linus that gets the best lines, but today’s strip shows the unique talent of this cartoonist. Love it!

Sally could have easily said this one. Or Peppermint Patty.

I’ve read literally every “Peanuts” comic strip ever published, either in the paper for all those years or in the “Complete Peanuts” collections. The best ever, for sure. (Probably his only rival was “Pogo” creator Walt Kelly.)

One of Steve Allen’s classic characters was Senator Philip Buster. He probably served on committees with Senators Jack S. Phogbound and Batson D. Belfry.

how do these kids know what a filibuster is at the age of 5 or 6? I’m 45, I not fully sure I know what it is.
