That is a proverb and not a fortune, which seems to be normal in fortune cookies now.

I always wondered if fortune cookies ever get stale. I could out the other day, when I took one out of a jar on the counter and took a small bite! (my wife has been saving them every time we have take out).From now on, I’ll just break it open and read the fortune…
