Senate gridlock is due to the failure of majority leader Harry Reid to effectively manage the institution. Tom Toles just can’t bring himself to admit that Democrats are not perfect.
The house has to pass any bill or the senate can do nothing. The republican house has done everything in their power to block everything. Voting to repeal the ACA 50 times and spending the fewest days in Washington of any Congress in history are among their contributions. Their idea of tax reform is eliminating Social Security, Medicare, mortgage and medical deductions while the oil companies and off shore inversions get a pass.
Thanke! And, yes, I have. May I recommend “The Civil War” by Shelby Foote (all 3,000 pages of it!) a truly impartial southerner, and a truly great historian!!
Heck, I would even recommend such books to the ultra conservative Tea Party types here, might do them some good to see true history instead if just litening to the likes of Rush Limbaugh!!
