    If they’d been smoking pot instead of drinking booze, they might have fought better, well, if they hadn’t eaten themselves silly. If the Mexicans had been smokin’ a little, they may not have been in the mood to fight at all.

    The hard answer is that as long as there is a demand then there will be a supply, so if you want to elimate the supply, elimate the demand.

    Well, that sounds simple, but I doubt that we can incarcerate another million or two citizens overnight who are “recreational” drug users, and be able to handle the situation. Besides, if we did, the dealers would have to replace their lost income somehow, probably by murdering and stealing from another hundred thousand or so innocent civilians on the streets. Geeze, I like THAT solution.
