If Only The Dems Would ACT!

God knows that if it were the other way around the GOP would crush them.

It looks we are going to have 3 more years of this.

This is from the link that cfimeiatpap posted: In Congressional testimonry by Angela Braly, an executive with Wellpoint Insurance, which caused a big stir recently when it raised its premiums sharply:

ANGELA BRALY: My salary is 1.1 million dollars. I receive stock compensation with a value of 8.5 million dollars and last year an annual incentive payment of 73 thousand dollars.

Her annual incentive payment is more than most people make in a year.

I don’t mind when people get rich. I do mind when rich people don’t seem to care that other people are poor. Even the middle class struggles with these insurance premiums. There has to be a better way. I just don’t believe that the Republican proposals will make any serious difference.

Angela Braly is down the list of highly compensated health insurance ceo’s (less than half what the men are getting); she just happened to be the spokesperson for the industry called before congress (because she is a woman). The comments I found most interesting were from Wendell Potter (interesting name for those fans of A Wonderful Life). I also think Mr Stupak demonstrates his (and others on the panel) sellout to the special interests and corporate structure……… Doing nothing; the corporate dictatorship wins.

From day one, the R’s have calculated that frustrating health care reform is their best bet for the 2010 mid-terms. Progress on this front is not in their interest.
