Something suspicious about these re-runs; I can understand them being re-ran but why were they from the same date 11 years ago. Can you say hacker?

Why not a device reports when the driver runs a red light.

I wonder sometimes how many people who use the expression “big brother” to describe intrusive authorities remember where it came from. (“1984” by George Orwell – an excellent read.)

In Ireland they have cameras that read your license plate and with tag you for speeding or running a red light. They have toll roads, but no toll booths. You drive by the camera and you have 24 hours to pay your toll on line.

They know where your car is, even if you don’t. Well, in some malls, you can go to a kiosk, type in your license plate number and it will tell you what deck you are parked on.

I’m surprised the goobermint hasn’t mandated all ignition switches come with some kind of driver side ambient breathalyzer.

Doesn’t Progressive provide that here under the guise of an insurance discount?

Point taken. But regardless of malfunctions, machines are still orders of magnitude more reliable than human drivers.

I didn’t say “perfect,” I said “more reliable.” I would surmise that real, live traffic police officers make more mistakes than the red light cameras do.
