More practically, put the polish on an old blanket, and let the kids slide around on the floor with it. Tell them it is a magic carpet. Or do it yourself – much more fun than a boring pad on a stick.

I like the idea for dust mopping the floor. The problem is, my sister is 57 years old and might not appreciate this useful tip.

Remember the floor wax? The kind that didn’t shine until it was buffed? I have memories of a process very like that dust mop — back about 1947!
