??? I guess this is a anti-GOP cartoon, or maybe it’s just saying that a elphant says it’s going to jump you shouldn’t try to catch it.

The only reason the elephant can get away with its threat is that the people below remain directly under where it would fall. If they moved - and, not even that much - in either direction, the threat would be completely empty.

^ I’ve been on a few walkabouts with elephants in the bush and we’re told what to do when an elephant charges: nothing. Usually they are bluffs.

I did a quick search to confirm my naturally good advice (‘cos I’m an African and we all know what to do in these situations. :-| ). Here is even better advice <- Click here.

What does it have to do with what is happening? It nearly a direct quote from the GOP leadership.

Doc- having experience with grizzly, and black bears, and cougars, along with other “outside critters” this is usually true. I would NOT however trust that to a Holstein bull!

It is not the”wild” animals, but the domesticated ones, like party faithful, wiling to accept any ignorance, that are most dangerous to us.

It is wise to keep THEIR numbers down. So to mime their crowd “Jump, Jump, run, Sarah run”!!

Should she run, and I pray not, think I’ll move to Canada. Was born there but lived most of my life here.

as Max said: What’s going to happen’s going to happen. Just make sure it doesn’t happen to you. i.e., let him jump and just get out of the way!

The last time I checked, the elephants were in hiding. Why are the Libs afraid they’ll jump? Answer: Because they are not afraid of the Elephants: they are afraid of the people who will vote for the elephants. Next question, and maybe even more important: Why are they afraid of the people voting for Republicans?

Wow, Scott, how appropriate to use as your avatar the only Prez to ever shut down freedom of the press. I suspect the elephant is going to jump because he sees Palin coming.

The elephants are in hiding, yet they are getting all this press.

How left wing is the media again? I keep forgetting…

If Palin runs, she’ll have to get through the nomination process. That means debates, against people who agree with much of what she says, but by no means all. All those Republicans who’ve treated her with kid gloves because she’s an effective lightning rod for Democrat sputterings are going to “suddenly discover” that she’s “not what they’d thought.” She’d have to deal with “gotchya” questions from her own side of the aisle. Probably, she’d be toast before the convention. Alternatively, she splits the party and either she or the top moderate opponent runs as an Independent, resulting in another win for the Democrats.

There was a Horsey cartoon during the 2008 election pointing up the uneasy split in the GOP caused by Palin’s performance. A man is sitting across the table from a woman. The man is dressed in a bow tie and wears wire-rim glasses and is sitting straight as a ramrod in his chair, with his folded hands on the tabletop. Basically, he looks like George Will.

“Doesn’t it concern you that Governor Palin seems a trifle, er…underinformed?

The woman is leaning over the table, shaking her fist in the man’s face, with wild eyes, and projecting spittle from her gaping mouth.

“WHATTYA MEAN, ’UNDERINFORMED’?!? SARAH PALIN IS GOD’S CHOSEN VESSEL, HAND-PICKED TO LEAD AMERICA IN THE PATHS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS!!! GET THEE BEHIND ME, SATAN!”
