A nap snuggled up with Hobbes sounds like heaven.

Yes, to me the genius of Watterson and C&H lies not in the relationship, the dialogue, the overall idea, but in the way BW draws Hobbes. He is able to convey the subtlest of emotions and expressions in that feline face. Really remarkable.

Hobbes a rug? I can understand him wishing school is starting again!

DO NOT annoy the kittah….

not sure “School” ever starts, but school activities are already under way. (at least we lead the world in American Football and marching bands)

But Calvin is identifying the sprawled-out Hobbes as an empty fur coat and the real Hobbes elsewhere “running ’round nude.”

Calvin was saying that it wasn’t Hobbes lying there – Hobbes slipped out of his fur, left it lying on the floor as a rug and was running around nude – he was being facetious about a lazy Hobbes

Here in KS enrollment has started last Friday school starts 8/12/14

Calvin and his pet tiger Hobbes are buddies. Calvin recites a poem to his pet tiger Hobbes because they are buddies. Calvin walks away from his pet tiger Hobbes and then Hobbes wonders when school starts.
