Say 'AH'. Deep breaths, cough, cough again. Read the eye chart. You're fine... Why did you want to see a doctor? Ten years on the waiting list, and he dropped by on a whim..
The U.S. Justice Department has said they will seek no criminal charges against the administrations of the VA for allowing dozens of veterans to die from lack of health care.
If it had been a corporate hospital or insurance hospital you can bet the government/media machine would have been calling for criminal charges.
This evaluation from Wikipedia:“Patients routinely rank the veterans system above the alternatives, according to the American Customer Satisfaction Index.” In 2008, the VHA got a satisfaction rating of 85 for inpatient treatment, compared with 77 for private hospitals. In the same report the VHA outpatient care scored 3 points higher than for private hospitals.[.But if you’re going to send young men and women to war, you need to provide the resources to care for the wounded and the disabled.
Finally, Congress is investigating the VA’s healthcare system. In a sense, it’s nice to know it’s not just me but I feel sorry for those vets who have died while waiting.
This is another ‘problem’ where the solution is simple. Not easy, but simple nevertheless.-Veterans’ health care needs to be part of the Defense Department! Veterans who need health care are part of the cost of war and should not be shoved into any other department that Congress doesn’t give a whit about.
Zippy: note of interest: while in the Navy, my son had TWO different fractures missed by two different NAVY radiologists, leading to some of his permanent disabilities. MY experience was the Army destroying my medial records of treatments, before they went to St. Louis, because they showed my disabilities were real, and service
A very large part of the problem is the PENTAGON, not VA.

Provide disabled veterans all the help they need – and stop disabling more.
