The State Historical Society museum has a “recommended” donation of $4/person, but you cannot enter without donating something. You would get a “sir, excuse me, sir” if you attempted to bypass the donation box at the entrance. And of course, there was no change, so if all you had was a $10 or $20, you donated that. No, “pass it forward” either. So obnoxious.
