The lives of not others. Companies use keystroke monitoring programs to track you at work. (Woman: My personal life: 5PM -9AM + weekends.) The NSA listens to your calls and reads your e-mail at home. (Man: What do you think?) (Woman: Not on the phone.) (Man: What do you think?) Your sleep thoughts are your own as long as you take precautions.

Key stroke monitoring, in addition to monitoring email and internet usage. Everything you view on the internet at work, including your “secure” banking sessions, is first downloaded to your workplace server before it’s viewed on your monitor. You used their property and bandwidth to access it, so they have the ability and right to read it.

What a surprise! They own all the equipment and are paying you to do your job. It is really a shame they have to watch you. Most companies are somewhat tolerant of some private use but there have been estimates people spend a significant amount of time using these resources for non-work related things.
As far as the government is concerned, do you really think anybody is interested in monitoring your day to day activities? Get over it, your life is simply not that interesting.

I don’t have time at work to surf the net, or conduct my own business on the company phone, fax or computer. I have my own computers and take care of my business on my computers. I don’t think that it is so difficult to keep my personal life and work separate.

I’ve wall papered my entire bedroom with “tin foil”. So I’m covered!

The manufacturing facility I work at has several internet connected computers available for use in the break room. The IT dept FAQs state outright that they have the ability to see every web page you visit and advises employees to do their private (banking, mortgage, taxes, et cetera) at home. Now, if they could get off their @$$ and block #$%^&* Facebook from the manufacturing computers….
