This strip seems to be drawn by people who don’t play these sports. Her right hand is totally wrong.

Did she just take the pitch squarely to the head? I don’t see anything to indicate the ball was fouled off the bat.

In addition to her horrible grip on the bat with her right hand that will break it if the balls hits there, she also appears to be squatting like a catcher to bunt. What’s up with that?

I can’t tell if Mimi is signalling for a bunt in P2 or threatening to send Amy to the dungeon if she doesn’t get a hit.

If Amy is to be successful sacrificing herself with a bunt, the bat barrel should be pointing up at a 45 degree angle to promote the ball downward to the ground. By bending her knees to pitch level, she can control the bunt.

At least we are getting some actual sports action in this story line…I can deal with the artwork not being perfect if we at least get sports in Gil Thorp! Now if we can just have a playdown run by SOME team at Milford. How many years since Thorp’s boys made it to the state tourney in Central City and stayed at Motel 7?
