Actually, modern public playgrounds have a lot of apparatus that look pretty dangerous to me. They’re really counting on that rubberized surface absorbing a lot of impact!

Back in the day, if you fell out of a tree and broke your arm, no one tried to sue the “owner” of the tree.Anyway, those kids look monkey enough to handle it ;)

Read someplace about a school that couldn’t get the kids to go outside at recess. Turned out the students weren’t allowed to play dodge ball, jump rope, play tag, ya-da. They stayed indoors because there wasn’t anything to do outside.

@John Locke, yeah Go lawyers, but lets also slam the greedy deadbeat parents that have sued this country to the state where Monkey bars and Large metal slides are a thing of the past. Glad I grew up well before litigation went crazy.

A recent study in NZ allowed children to be children again, they discovered that while it look like absolute chaos the kids really enjoyed it.They also discovered the kids where more interested in school work, and they didn’t need timeout rooms.

It took me awhile to remember how a local girl, over seven years ago, died playing on a spiral slide: the drawstring to her hood got caught on part of the slide at the top, choking her to death.
