So true. I want you to do the sacrificing and let me keep on keeping on. This is a huge issue in the USA and is certainly not limited to the Dinette Set.

There are four of them within a 10-minute drive from where I live now.

I live about 5 miles from a Wally World but prefer to do my shopping at regular stores. I don’t like the way they treat their employees and I HATE that they are slowly doing away with name brand products and replacing them with their brand of Good Value. In our store they placed the Good value milk on all of the lower shelves and put the other brands on the very top shelf UNDER the shelf talker banner so you can’t see it.

Everybody complaints about Wal Mart and other mega stores to be so abundant and pay so little to their employees. But the reality is that they are providing jobs (low paying nevertheless), at least available for the local working force. Having them so close should be seen as a convenience instead of a curse. You should realize how difficult is for a lot of people in the rest of the world to find a place to get anything they might need so close to their homes. We are becoming unaware of the commodities we have and one day we will learn the hard way to appreciate what we used to have.

I only buy stuff there I can’t get anywhere else (they do that to certain suppliers with exclusivity contracts). Hope that changes but I doubt it.

I haven’t set foot in a walmart in more than 20 years. No plans to break that trend. I get my fill at www.peopleofwalmart.com

I know of people who were on welfare before they got a job at Walmart and were able to get off of welfare and medicaid because of their Walmart job. Most people who work there are very thankful for their jobs. Most of the propaganda against Walmart is from the unions because they would just love to have a piece of that pie and Walmart just won’t do it.

It’s been over 4 years since I’ve set foot in one of those stores, after they fired me for not coming to work when I had a BAD case of the flu. Even had a doctors note, telling me to take a full week off. People I know who are still working there are saying their hours have been cut to under 30 hours a week, and they can’t look for a second job to make up for the lost hours, because Walmart changes their hours EVERY week. Anyone who “takes up” for Walmart, says they are good, is obviously a shill, or someone high up in the company!

When Sam Walton ran walmart it was good. The thing I noticed then was all the clothing was had big made in the usa tags. Our town allowed the local walmart to expand to a super one only by remaining at .he original site. We didm’t want a abandoned building . About the only thing I buy at ours is toothpaste shampoo and the like. I would never buy groceries there it isn’t up to my standards. And I don’t care about Walmarts “If don’t have it you don’t need it” I try to shop other places locally . Of course I love amazon, jetpens, several bicycle, and art supply online stores due they provided with what I want and need and not try to guilt me into make due. I think walmart will fall to the wayside if they don’t figure that out.

Detest Walmart!! There are 4 in a less then 20 mile radius around me and they have driven out all the smaller stores. If I need simple things like socks or toys I have to do a 45 minute drive to a bigger city. Most of their goods and groceries are junk from China. Fortunately we also have Wegman’s the Best Grocery in the US. Believe it or not Wegman’s prices on staples like milk, butter, bread, etc are LOWER then Walmart for the same brand (USA) produced. Also Walmart produce is garbage from who knows where.Plus their service is nonexistent! 20 checkouts and if you’re lucky 4 are open.

I love Wal-Mart. True, I can’t get EVERYTHING there, but I like to go there for a lot of things.

I seldom shop there but they are one of the few neighborhood places to buy a State Fishing license – Last time my youngest boy visited we bought one and spent two(unproductive) afternoons fishing.

At least the park was very nice and pretty with ducks and swans.
