retired from real estate tax information service in 2010, stay home now and take care of my husband who is also retired. I relate to The Pickles, which is why I love reading that strip. Born and raised in Texas and still live there.

Just hand her the rake and go inside and rest your back. She wants to jump in the leaves, let her rake them up.

My second was a breach but with the wisdom of the US Military Dr’s in Hawaii in 1971, I was allowed to give birth the good ole fashioned way……..had a 7 Lb.8 oz baby girl.

Love my siblings but going from a nice quiet house to a houseful of folks for lunch and a small Christmas celebration can bring on a nice nap after everyone leaves. Still have 2 more celebrations before New Years, Christmas Day with my husbands family, and then Christmas with my children and grands after Christmas. Stressful time of the year but love each and everyone of them.

as far as I am concerned, there is NOTHING so important that I have to drive on ICE…….I tried to drive on ice once about 40 years ago and just made a series of right hand turns out of my drive around the corner and back into my drive. Went back inside and called it a SNOW DAY.We don’t get much snow in Texas so Ice is a great substitute.

My daughter wraps with brown paper, or the funnies and saves EVERY bit of tissue paper she can get. Also she has a huge gift bag collection. Just a very frugal person. I will admit to saving a few really nice gift boxes and in some cases I have received the same box 2 or 3 times. It just passes on from one to another and eventually back to me.

I am 71 so I just look at what ever I dropped and get the grabber thing and call it good. I mop the floor by dropping a wet dishtowel and using my foot…..works for me, gets it clean.

My mom used to say “The best laid plans of mice and men never work out”. I am sure that is from a poem or play by someone special but that is the first thing that popped into my head when she turned down the first invitation.
