Lucky uses a version of the “bottle bat” made famous by Heinie Groh almost a century ago.

Looks like Lucky’s having some sort of allergic reaction in P3 that’s made his face swell up like a puffer fish.

Lucky will be off at the crak of the bat. Actually, WHAK is a radio station in Michigan. Connection to Neal?

Where is Lucky standing? For outdoor sports, Whigham has to drop a fence in somewhere. It’s like a giant hand.

“… to give her some of my luck” … is that what they call it now?

Lucky’s luck – Tilden defense makes spectacular snag?

“Straightens out a curveball.” That’s actually some pretty good writing for the Gil Thorp strip.

Lucky’s hands are all wrong for the moment of impact on a baseball swing. Whigham is not much for realism.

Lucky’s teammate in P1 looks like the bastard son of Kaz and John Tesch.

The dungeon story gets dragged out even longer in today’s Mopped Up Thorp. I feel like I’m turning into Rubin and Whigham.

Who planted that tree in the outfield in P1? Wrigley has Ivy, Milford has trees.

Lucky is outdoing himself. He’s going to hit himself in P2 with a line drive from P3

In all reality, home plate is too deep in the cage and with Lucky pulling the ball it hits a support pole and sending the ball flying back into Luckys head.

That tree kind of looks like it’s on the pitcher’s mound with that circle around it.

Have they stopped using metal bats in HS baseball? Shouldn’t the sound be “PING”? (I’ve never gotten used to that sound – only a wooden bat “sounds right” to my old ears.)
