Because if you don’t kill them, someday they will reward you with grandchildren.

True. Better to have ‘em at YOUR house and KNOW what kind of trouble they’re getting into

I don’t want to be the “B” word, but does anyone else wonder about how Elly treats her family? I loved having kids around, at one point I had 15 in the house (I only have one child). They all had someone to play with and I got so much housework done and time to make 2 types of cookies (knowing that one little girl didn’t like chocolate). I guess if it ticks me off that much I should stop reading the comics. I get tired of hearing how much it’s all about her.

I wanted my house to be open and friendly to my children’s friends. I wanted them to be comfortable at my place.

Connie & Ellie were college roommates who started at the same time. Michael & Lawrence were the same age. Ellie dropped out of school when she got married to support John while he finished dental school. Connie finished school, became a radiology technician, and then met Lawrence’s father during a medical mission in South America.
