When I was a kid in Morgantown, WV we used to catch rides all of the time on coal trains. the trick was to get on while they were starting out then as they picked up speed and the click, clicks were getting closer then we’d jump off. In those days they used a caboose so we’d get on in a turn so they would not see us. They don’t use the caboose anymore. I was told some time ago that the speed limit for coal trains is 25 MPH but it’s obvious they were speeding.

Dan, just wanted to stop by and say Thanks for another Great Strip. Also wanted to thank the usual Hooligang Suspects (and You KNOW who you Are! :-) for all the great Comments! this is the ONLY strip where I read the comments anymore….Rip Haywire is so Awesome he can even disperse the veritable miasma of Troll Funk that seems to abound unabated elsewhere on GoComics…
