    It is amazing how many animal comparisons we still use in this era where most people don’t deal with anything more exotic than a dog or cat or parakeet.

    One I don’t get is “as healthy as a horse.” My cousin owns a horse ranch. One of his biggest bills is for the vet. If you think that health care is expensive for people, then think about someone whose medical equipment includes a block and tackle and a back hoe. Also, horses live to be about 40-45 years old. By that standard, I’ve been dead for at least a decade.
