Reminds me of “The Wonderful One Hoss Shay”, a poem by Oliver Wendell Holmes, which describes a chaise that lasted a hundred years … until:

Before I sold it, I drove my 1995 Dodge Ram 2500 8.0L V10 269,000 miles. Effectively, a little past the moon.
