Schoolchildren in Alaska go to school in the dark and come home in the dark. They know a lot about astronomy.
Val, also has to deal with a egomaniacal teenager and a pre-teen that loves to delve into everything. What more could a single Mother want ?

I want to live on the equator.
She has SAD. Seasonal affected disorder.
If Val is going to work in the dark, shouldn’t it look like night in the first two panels? :)
Never liked first shift for that reason.
For once in my life I don’t Have to get up at 6:30 in the morning anymore! (I am Not a morning person…!) ;)
I always look forward to Dec. 21st beacuse then I know the days are getting longer.
