    Thoughts on turning 70 today:

You know you’re getting older when…

Everything that works hurts, and what doesn’t hurt doesn’t work.

You feel like the morning after, and you haven’t been anywhere.

Your mind makes contracts your body can’t keep.

You look forward to a dull evening.

Your knees buckle and your belt won’t.

Your back goes out more than you do.

You know all the answers, but nobody asks the questions.

Good strips for a few days, then back to the dreck, once I’m back….Not to put a damper on anyone’s day, but, my long absence has to do with being stressed and busy helping to plan the funeral for my Dad who died Mon morning; I really wasn’t in the mood to read the “funnies”

Gweedo (Free Range Dry) Murray said, about 20 hours agoAah ! Tickly, but not treacly.-Well, that fella I met one Saturday in the dorm in Texas (Tejas) had Pink Floyd “Relics” on a cassette tape and a small player. After application of the pernicious we then proceeded to take a trip to outer space “and never leave the farm”.-This partly in the country spot where I live has its share of horse keepers. I have met a couple of them [horses]. They like apples and carrots. Last year I took a slugga carrots out to the place where we get the horse poop and they loved um !-Yeah, it is. I finally did the customer service thing with the phone. Turns out I had to pay a shipping charge because I had split the order and that New York state makes Amazon collect tax. I canceled the order and told her I would start over with a new debit card. Having it all sent here got shipping back to free and no New Dork tax. 56$ became just under 45$. I can mail Ron his, with a bow, and still have a saving.-If you spice your hair before going over you could be the “Cinnamon girl”.-Wishing you a good day, Wednesday willing._________________________________________________I’ve only heard two of Pink Floyd’s songs. You sent me one in a comment last year and I sent you one which I had just listened to myself.-When I was little, My Mum used to take me to the stables near where we live and see the horses. I even got the opportunity to go into the stable and feed one of the babies an apple! -Feel free to tell me to ‘pull myself together’ but I go soft whenever I think of that memory. Mum used to take me after school. She grew up with horses and also dogs. They are her two favourite animals.-I saw that horse again today, It was nearer the stables this time eating grass. I thought it had gone for good.-Glad everything is sorted with Amazon. I’m sure you don’t want to hear my ‘words of wisdom’ but I would be cautious of online shopping sites. There are always risks.-I hope you are well. I’m still coughing, It was a bit worse today. The cold weather dosen’t help but never mind. I’m warm now.

I am not posting today as I did something really stupid. I am visiting my friend Ruth in my old hometown of Rockford, MN. (I am on Ruth’s desktop now.)We had gone to visit another one of our friends who now resides in an assisted living facility. I inadvertently left my laptop in the car when we got back. It was so cold, it froze it! Thats all I can think of as to why its not booting up today. I dont know how to thaw it and will have to wait til my son gets off of work, so I can call him and ask him what to do. (yes’m, he is an ubergeek, it is what he does for a living, head of I.T. ) Here is our almanac for yesterday… History & AlmanacHide Max Temperature:Min Temperature:Normal (KMIC)31 °F / 0 °C16 °F / -8 °CRecord (KMIC)46 °F / 7 °C (1998)-11 °F / -23 °C (2000)Yesterday-0.4 °F / -18.0 °C-12.8 °F / -24.9 °CSo you see why the silly thing froze up, and arent you glad I didnt leave a pet in the car!!

RE: Glasgow …….It has the Charles Rennie Mackintosh museum and many more thongs of interest. If you ever have the opportunity of going to Scotland, I would recommend Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dumfries (and surrounding area), Loch Lomond (but not the visitor centre), and if you want to see a typical Scottish town: Castle Douglas. When I was last there it had the Best Indian Restaurant I have ever been to..That was a long time ago.

Regarding Glasgow: I have visited Glasgow many times and on my last visit, I had the pleasure of meeting and having a pint with Number Six. I find Glasgow a very friendly and “homey” city. Not as “touristy” as Edinburgh which is a nice place to visit once.

I had a birthday a while back which I managed to sneak past the Cappers. I’m 86 now. I was born the same year Lindbergh made the first Trans-Atlantic flight.

Hey everyone. It’s been a ride for the last month. @MikeyJI am very sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad. I lost mine in 99 and Mom left in 02. I miss them both terribly and know the pain you are feeling. It lessons and dims but it never goes away. To this day I find myself reaching for the phone thinking to call Dad for advice or just to converse.@EveryoneMy MIL is doing well. The trachea tube came out last week. She will forever be on very soft food but seems to like the pureed concoctions we make. The next step for her will be radiation. Her cancer doctor said that chemo would be to hard on her. Her heart doctor doesn’t like the radiation. We’ll let the doctors fight it out. MIL is in decent spirits but my wife is as homebound as she is taking care of her. Thank you for all of your prayers and good thoughts. Knowing I have friends that care is a wonderful thing.BCNU
