Yes, but we didn’t hate Reagan for reforming a broken immigration system. We hated him for his lies, his corruption, his vast over-spending, and his hatred for the poor and the sick.
Thanks for the detailed list, which was a pleasant walk down memory lane.
There was a memorable Doonesbury one Sunday that wrapped it all up: an elf was at his PC talking to Santa. Each panel discussed one Reagan administration higher-up who had committed crimes against his/her office and/or the country. Each time, the elf asked “Naughty or Nice”? Each time, Santa said “Naughty”. The next to last panel described Ronald Wilson Reagan, the person who made sure that each criminal was originally given his/her job. “Naughty, right?” asked the elf.
Santa replied, “But he seems so nice!” (The elf’s PC responds: Fruitcake? Yes/No?)
Thank you. Long read, but worth it. As I’ve said before, how do the republicans know, because they are the ones doing it, and then pointing mis-directings. Tax and spend is one example of their mis-direction.

Putting his tail between his legs is more of an Obama or Boehner thing.

I don’t remember ANYONE hating Reagan for immigration reform – I remember everyone being optimistic the problem was solved.
But, I do remember conservatives hating Obama for being black – uhhhh I mean ACA.

Exactly, he should have stood firm in the first six months or less.

However, he is still the better choice we had at both elections he won.
