Best way to cure boredom, tell you mom you have nothing to do.

Good grief, Holly is slow! Most girls in our family have figured out never say ’I’m bored’ in front of mom (or any other adult female in the family) by the time they are 8.

Depression runs in my husband’s family, including his descendants. I’ve noted that children who are bored all the time often turn out to be depressed. (The child in my family who is most bored is supposed to be taking antidepressants, but she won’t.) I’ve encouraged the kids to seek help if they feel overwhielmed. As a child I was never bored, because my lively mind always entertained me.

Never say you’re bored around your parents or else they’ll find something useful for you to do.
