Stuff him and put him on exhibit in the Smithsonian as a Tea Party Senator. Place him between a Whig and a Federalist.

I’d have to say he’s scratching, but it kinda looks like he’s pinching his own bottom.

He has a firm grip on his own, rather peculiar reality.

And I really, really hope you are smart enough to know that the Federalist papers are in no way binding law, but the aspirational, thinking out loud of various people as they stumbled toward democracy. This is not law, nor acceptable behavior. Even this statement does not justify the parliamentary trickery and bullying employed by the Tea Party. They are cowards, not patriots.

No, they don’t want to secede. They want to crash the government so they can go back to the pre-New Deal robber baron Gilded Age. A few billionaires, like the Koch Bros. and Adelson want to get rid of the pesky aspects of the government that protect the rights of average Americans so they can pillage with impunity. No EPA, no SEC, no NLRB. But it’s suicidal, if we default the whole world goes. They are also distracting us from dealing with climate change which will finish us all off unless we quit this childishness and grow up and deal with our problems.

Actually Ted Cruz’s father is a Dominionist or Christian Reconstructionist who’s vision of a Christian theocracy has been a huge influence on his son. (See Chris Hedges recent article on truthdig.com). As far as both son and father are concerned this shutdown was a win in so far as it further weakened what they consider a deviant US government. Dad want’s Cruz to stay exactly where he is and do it all again in three months.
