Uh, Burl, I don’t think I would have told that exact one. Perhaps you should make something up? I wonder what pranks Dale and Jerry are thinking about now? I wonder if they involve a wire brush? And, Joy, you don’t have to call the Gas Co. for more information about the gas leak in the bath room. Look closer to home.

One of my coworkers once made a comment about the Irish. Shortly there after, he’d find a three leaf clover (cut from a Bailey’s Irish Cream box) in unusual places. his coat pocket, pin to the cigar he smoked at breaks, booby traps on his work bench. Then he started receiving letters from all over the world, each containing one of these three leaf clovers. It drove him a bit nuts and he never did find out who was doing it.and no, it wasn’t me

Many years ago I was a mechanic at a bowling alley family fun center. While there I set up a bowling pin in a nice shiny pin cup mounted on a varnished wood block so you could see the base of the pin. On the base of the pin was a circular patch of Velcro pile. With this was a sign…

Does that Five pin seem like it’s nailed to the deck?Do you feel like the Ten pin is laughing at you? Here’s why. ➜The arrow pointed to smaller sign which read…The Spoilerfrom Velcro®with a string leading back to the bowling pin base.

I placed all this in an unused display case (that should have been a clue) strategically located so that other bowl employees could watch people checking it out.

This display stayed in place for a couple of years confounding people – at least momentarily if not longer.

Working the overnight shift. Easter Sunday morning. 5 A.M..Phone calls to friends and relatives: “Christ has risen; why haven’t you?”..Darn “Caller I.D.” put an end to that!

cute sphincter, although I think it was misspelled, could do without the first “€”.

Sorry, didn’t mean to get anal about it.

While I love humor, some “practical” jokes can seriously harm or inconvenience people. I took every job seriously even the ones I had while still in school (bank teller, lab worker). At one of my early jobs as an adult, there WAS a guy who loved practical jokes; the last thing he did cost the company (on his behalf) a lot in employee compensation – he threw out his back swinging like an ape on some pipe racks in our warehouse area (blamed it on the company, nach’). Before that, same guy put red-hot sauce in the coffee maker first thing in the morning. Fortunately, I didn’t drink coffee even then, but he thought it was hysterical (other co-workers reacted like Dale and Jerry).

We had a boss “Jerry” who would call up and ask “Burl” (Not his real name! Who wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed!) to page “Anita Mann” to the phone. “Burl” fell for it Every. Single. Time.“Jerry” eventually gave up because it just wasn’t fun anymore.

@WildSow, I think your “Jerry” got that from the Simpsons; Bart used to do it all the time to Mel (except he had more variations- did not always use the same one)

Um…. X?Is the cup what holds the top of the pin?Google doesn’t seem to know. But otherwise, I’m kinda lost…..

And Dazz…. like most corny humor, that joke predates the Simpsons by at least 40 years.

    Wow! x_Tech!

I am truly impressed by your ability to go back in time and take pictures!!

Got any telling shots of the Kennedy or Lincoln assassinations?

Or can you only go back to wherever you were on those days?
