Mom: If we hurry, we'll get to the pool in time to avoid the undesirable chairs. Alice: What are the undesirable chairs? Mom: They're the older chairs between the baby pool and the soda machine. No one wants to sit in them. Mom: But if we get to the pool in time, we'll get a desirable chair! Alice: Are these the undesirable chairs, Mommy? Mom: Yes they are. Petey: Ew.

When I was a kid we went to the pool to go swimming. There weren’t any chairs except the lifeguard chairs.

I guess I am a foreigner to the concept of “going to pool”… you go to a pool in order to sit in a chair? Why not just set a chair in your own backyard and sit there?

Why are they undesirables. You have the sodas close by and you can watch Alice without having to leave the chair.

Well in the pools around here, the soda machines are placed nicely beside the changing room/shower room/toilets! OMG, GET ME OUTTA HERE! I AGREE WITH PETEY!
