When Stan started talking spiders in the last panel, I was beginning to feel a groan building until that catchphrase hit. Kudos, Mr Hinds! For those supporting freer use of PEDs yesterday, that sums up the response. No one should feel pressured to risk their health through the use of such drugs, neither by the desire to win nor by the demand of the audience. That’s where the line belongs.
gmartin997, ah, but I AM an old guy.the year of the home run derby between Mantle and Maris (Mantle wound up with an injury and hit 54, while Maris broke the record with 61) was 1961. Of course, I was there and followed it everyday; I was merely referring to the last derby where McGuire hit 70 and Sosa hit ……uh…..66, I think.
Well done and hilarious! Tho I had to think for a moment about what “PEDS” were in the first panel. Didn’t see any periods so it looked more like a regular word since everything was in call caps…thought it was referring to footwear! LOL
