    Saturday in the swamp means a Parade somewhere, even if It has to be Here. . . . perhaps the Slough from the Swamp helped feed Hartlepool Canal?skating thru

    The relationship between Pogo and Albert is a primary dynamic of the Comic, and there’s almost alway Food involved, and almost always Pogo’s, and Pogo almost gets to eat Some sometimes. In fact some Books were titled Albert and Pogo. This is Fall 1965

    Since Andy is spineless, “supine” should be “supineless”And I’m thinking that I should confessThat today’s strip was funnyThough lacking in punnyBut readable, true (more or less)

    @Chalkie JI’ve often thought of Pogo and B.C. as both being pretty existential, in the sense that any old rock in B.C. can become a bar, a bait shop, a psychiatrist’s office, or what have you. And in the swamp, almost any house, hovel, shack, or beaver lodge can become a camp or a school or a meeting house—pretty much out of nowhere, when enough animals or human beans decide that’s what they feel like doing that day. (One time, I was reading Pogo at band camp……….)

    The gag about Pogo isn’t the “Funny Animal” aspect so-much-as the interaction of the Characters’ personalities, and the convolution which is bound-to-follow.Zoom zoom

    …. The second major dynamic “Pairing” in Pogo is Churcy LaFemme and Howland [Owl] Owl. Churchy, with his Armour, is the feckless epitome of Happy-go-lucky. Howland get his Feathers easily-ruffled, and that ‘wisdom’ of His . . .er; He wears Sorcerers’ Hat like a Mad Scientist does a “Thinking Cap”. Some overdrawn RAT did that just ONCE, and look where THAT led. Fussbudget? Howland was doing that schtick back when Lucy Van Pelt was still a third-tier Character.

    Hahahaha! Two words Andy would never in a million trillion years understand.

    The only words that get through to Andy are ’What’ll yer ‘ave’?

    @Gweedo Murray

    Gweedo Murray commented on Andy Capp about 21 hours agoHi, Number Three. It was a good trip. I touched base with Jim, my sales guy and Todd, who works the front desk. The whole house music thing is where you have your audio and visual electronics to where you can operate them off your iphone, ipad or laptop. Still waiting to be able to upgrade the pre-amp.________________________________________________

    That sounds really awesome. I hope you manage to upgrade very soon too.

    I’m glad your trip was good. Will you be going again soon?

    May your day be a nice one.

    Sometimes the participants in the Parade are the Spectators as-well and verse vice and  . . . .just float thru. I think the two Masters, Reg and Walt, observed and admired, but weren’t too influenced by the Other due to the singularity of Their Strips’ Universes. “Funny Animals in Dogpatch, U.S.A.,” and a Wife-Beater up-held Daily in the Mirror. One-ofs.

    Is ‘Touching Base’ an American term for ‘contacting someone’ or ‘catching up’ ?

    I had to research it.

    Sorry. LOL.

    Message for @Gweedo….We’ve all fallen foul of “the Prof” if that’s who did this. Would this be the same “Prof” who once said to me that she moved to France when her husband came out of prison? What was the crime? I wonder. If this gets ME barred, well then, it does. I’m down enough not to care at the moment..Come back soon…It’s good to have a “head” on these pages.

    I got a personal letter from Guido; doing fine he’s dont say where doing fine; this pic from a Doctor Who convention htat He nearly got in. i guess even Whips are suspicious nowdays; didn’t used to be that way. I dunno why Don was dressed as Don Beefheart, a SNF Regular; maybe it’s that Dalek Heart or something scre just nothing. Don runs a Van Fleet as a Moonlight Job; Don’s Van Fleet He calls it not very original but easy to find on the internet; just look up yer business license and it’s there’ boom; right on top of the search. Don’s Gweedo is missing Us, He wants us to know, and to just keep all the Snow in the Midwest and East; really; it’s just fine there.
