Looks like Nelson’s answer to Opal is no.

Like I said yesterday, I grew up only knowing my maternal grandparents and I called them as Grandma and Grandpa.

Opal knows the minds of little boys – and old ones, too. Actually, there’s not too much difference !

I once told a woman that my grandparents were all dead 19 years before I was born and she looked dazed and asked “Then how are you here?”

Ours were Nana & Papa (pronounced ‘PUH-puh’) and then their last names. My folks were Bostonians…

It should have said, “Point taken, Grandma”

Always thought “Meemaw” quite babyish. Love being “Grandma”!

I am Oma to my step-grandson. I love it since I had an Oma when I was growing up.

My ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren call me grandmother! Sounds more respectful to me, but whatever you like is best for you. Have a daughter-in-law who wanted to be called glamma, but they call her co co!

I love Nelson’s ‘visible’ reaction in the 3rd panel with the marks of astonishment around his head.

    LOL xxx

My dad’s parents were Grandma and Grandpa. My mom’s parents were Boobie and Big Daddy. They thought they were “too young” to be Grandma and Grandpa when my (older) brother was born.
