Cooties may come from WW I. It made appearances in the trenches and may be rooted in a foreign word similar: kute.

We’d fold paper into “cootie catchers”, which could also be used to tell fortunes (the hows of making and using are a bit complex for this space).

Incidentally, the PubMed database has nothing on cooties, but does list 550 medial journal articles on cookies.

You must have missed the strip in which she was reviewing “Thong Song”.

Miss Fritzi looks to have a Jayne Mansfield size waist.

Does Fritzi have an “elf” look to her today…or is it just me?

“Schaper (pronouned ‘Shopper’) Always Leaves you Laughing – Ha ha ha ha ha ha!”

Can hardly believe I remember that ad jingle after all these years.

Back in the day of jungle gyms, seesaws and and swing sets on school playground and we had a good long recess after lunch to use them, “cooties” were what you got if a girl touched you.

    EEEeeeewwwwww!

Hope Nancy is just curious, and not in need of real advice. Nancy and Fritzi look like they are from two different eras and this is an episode of Back to the Future. Also hate to say it but Fritzi dresses a bit like a tart.

Remember cooties being mentioned in the movie The Roaring Twenties in a WWI foxhole scene with Jimmy Cagney and Humphrey Bogart.

Cooties are what you get when that boy kisses you when you are in the first grade and you have to pretend that you didn’t like it. “Oooooo, he gave me cooties”.
