Thought so. It was obvious from that photo that our POTUS is a charter member of the Save the Skeets Foundation. PULL! Yah sure…

It seems to me there are Oliphant cartoons that rely on artistry for their impact, and those that rely on his sardonic story-telling skill. This one has some of both, but the various expressions of the supporting characters are what’s most amusing. I clipped his cartoons from the papers long ago, and I probably would have clipped this one to save it. What was Obama thinking when he allowed that photo to go out? The stunt literally back-fired like in a Yosemite Sam scene.

The “advisor smartasses” aren’t eating skeet so much as crow…………@emptc12I think Oliphant at his worst is better than most political cartoonists at their bests (whether I agree or disagree with the point in question being irrelevant) simply because of his COMBINATION of artistry and his story-telling skill. I’ve often thought that he could’ve been very successful as an animator, whereas I can’t think of any other political cartoonists who could’ve combined the point with the developing story, the way Oliphant can.

At Ft Benning, the Army trap and skeet team was based. I shot with them a couple times and at first they didn’t like my “form”, but I didn’t miss any clays. One of their coaches then pointed out that function is more important than “form” sometimes. But down south is where there seem to be a lot of clay eaters, so maybe that meal is more in keeping than Pat intended??

Ima I actually like your comment! Gives me a great visual! Maybe that’s how so many hunters get shot getting in/out of their tree stands?
