    Ugh, it sounds like he’s just looking for an excuse to not take responsibility for his actions (eye roll). And not only that, but he’s happy about it. (super eye roll) We can be stronger than what the generations before us did.

    Any time someone brings in their ancestors as the cause of their problems, this is a serious red flag. It was bad enough when my wife kept bringing up how she was ignored by her father while he was running his store when she was five years old. Seriously? My father was in the military and away from home frequently from 90 days to a year.

    Eventually you accept responsibility and work with whatever handicap you think you have (we all have something).

    I remember the badge Security would wear after-hours at the Renaissance Faire. “You’re not special and neither is your problem.” Humorous with large elements of truth.
