An old strip that’s actually in sync with the current month and day. We’re all one big happy here.

@Limpid Lizard: Here is some trivia that will interest some readers and bore others.Today’s strip is from January 24, 1993, so it was originally published 20 years and 3 days ago. We are off by three days because January 27th was not a Sunday in 1993. In general, for the past several months the strips have been closely in sync like this, off by 3 days, except around Christmas when they had to adjust some of them to make the original Christmas Day strip actually fall on Christmas Day. The 1/27 on today’s strip is not original – it was added by the syndicate for this year’s rerun. In general for Calvin and Hobbes strips, the copyright year on the strip is correct, but the date has been changed to be the current date.

See Job 40:15-24 for description of dinosaur (who was contemporaneous with humans). Many commentators have tried to make this creature to be an elephant or a hippopotamus, but neither one “moves his tail like a cedar”, among other things described in the passage. Most land dinosaurs died in the worldwide flood of Noah’s time.

“Against you (God), you only, have I sinned, and done this evil in your sight:…” Psalm 51:4a“Behold, I was shaped in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.”We do sin against God, and we are born sinners, but we sin willingly so don’t blame Adam.

Plant-eaters can be just as dangerous as the meat-eaters; especially if you “rub them the wrong way”! Yes, the universe is going to do unto you (through others) precisely as you do unto those others! “Here’s good advice; always be nice.” (From Sesame Street, 1970).

@Tacopielvr: Maybe they change the date to the current one so that the newspapers don’t get confused and publish them on the wrong day. Peanuts reruns have the date changed also.
