So would I, kid. But as long as there are those who have no care for others’ freedom from fear, wars will be fought to protect those who would otherwise want to wipe you out. From all forms, fought on the playground at school, to the inner cities from gangs, to the evils to the likes of Hitler. Otherwise fear will win and no place would be safe.

Great idea. You could go to Somalia and bad mouth America from there.

You can tell it’s a Canadian cartoon ‘cause Santa’s outfit is the colors of the Canadian flag.

Not on this planet, Kid. China, Norway, the U.S….it doesn’t matter.

“I live my life completely free of the fear of senseless and irrational violence. (Since I left the USA, anyway.)”

I hope you touched wood after posting that.

I can’t remember the band or the title, but years ago (early 90’s?) I had a CD by a Canadian group which included a song called “It Can’t Happen Here.” The chorus went:

“Oh, it can’t happen here,”That’s what the old men say.“No, it’s not a problem here,Not like the U.S.A.”

It was specifically about the aftermath of a mass-shooting in Canada, although whether it was a real one or a theoretical one I don’t know.

rest assured, it happens there, too. You can google Canadian mass murders, even books about them. Canadians blame the U.S. made guns, but perhaps having less than 10% of our population is a factor? I think so.BTW: I am a Liberal, non-gun-owning American, in favor of strict gun laws. Just sick of Canadian self-righteousness. It can and does happen there.
