Rall’s summary is good, but still incomplete. Want America to drown? Just give Mitt a shot at your wallet, just like the 22% of the companies HE "invested in " and chose to send to bankruptcy as opposed to the 8% who got federal funding.

Careful, Ted. Remember what Dubya said, “We don’t want to play the blame game.”

So, okay, Ted doesn’t understand the concept of small government. Add that to the list.

Wow! As Mr. Rall correctly points out there are essential government services. Little Lord Fauntleroy and many other wing nuts want to privatize and/or gut FEMA. Check out the Green Party’s platform for that and many other reasons. There are compelling reasons to vote Green.

Unfortunately, Green, et.al. don’t have a snowball’s chance of winning anything worthwhile, just take away votes from the big two. (Whether this is good or bad for the country is a different discussion.) If Nader doesn’t run, Gore gets elected. Third parties will only succeed once they get a local, responsible ground game going. Currently they are just we’re not them, shrill true believers that have not been able to convince others they have a real agenda past their ideology. And they would still have to work with Congress if their candidate got elected.

How did this country grow like it did with small government for 150-200 years and yet go bankrupt with a huge government police state.

    See this flag?

Obama’s country. Every time you see one waving the next 4 years, remember that. Obama’s country.

Makes you mad, doesn’t it. Obama’s country.

I had to laugh when Chris Matthews compared the Germans and the Americans coming out of their trenches in WWI to shake hands to Chris Christie and Obama touring together.

I never cease to be amazed when righties complain about the president campaigning (he should be back in DC attending to our troubles), or having a large entourage (that’s support staff for you word challenged), but when a Republican does it he’s meeting the people, or tending to the country’;s business, like George was when he got his guitar while Katrina approached. And it turns out Romney’s campaign spent 5 grand at Wal-mart so that everyone who attended his Dayton event could “spontaneously” have a canned good, etc., even though the Red Cross says CASH is what they need, so they can use it appropriately.

Sorry, Ima’s not going to reply to your post. You’ve gone and muddied the waters with facts and reason. That’s poison to the Faux News crowd. Besides, you’ve used more than a dozen words. Wingnuts’ attention spans are pretty short, you know.

you check Romney’s own record as Governor of Massachusetts. The city of Peabody Massachusetts is a quiet borough north of Boston, neighboring Salem in Essex County. Historically tied to the tanning industry and agriculture, it was an early hotspot in the automobile industry. Through the town runs the Ipswich River, which is where the problems for Mitt Romney originate.

The state developed a flood prevention plan. With that plan in place, flooding would no longer be an issue should severe rain return to the area. The total cost would have been a paltry $5.7 million, a drop in the bucket compared to the hundreds of millions in damages caused by flooding. The measure, prepared, detailed, and ready to go, hit the governors desk for signature. And Governor Romney promptly vetoed it.In 2004, severe rain caused the river to overflow, causing widespread flooding.

Wife and I were looking for a property 15 years ago. One development mandated the style of mailbox, that no trees could be planted in front, and that you couldn’t even wear a bathing suit in the front yard, even if you,d been in your pool, and just went to check the mail! And everyone had to use the same landscaper. Hey Radish, comment on Defense, sarcasm much? EXCELLENT!

    Where’s O’s flag pin?

Such a high standard for patriotism.

It seems a lot of people have forgotten why we formed this union in the first place. If you’ll read your history books you’ll find we tried the “every state for itself” approach AND IT DIDN’T WORK! (And that was with just 13 states.)

I find folks more concerned about flag pins, than competence, disturbing.

I also noted the comments on those “gated community organizations”, very right wing generally, that make ridiculous demands on residents, and taking away their freedoms, proclaiming “this is the home of the free and the brave” (lemmings).

So wearing a flag pin is a sign of patriotism? My father served in WWII, as did his brothers. NONE of them talked about their exploits, or ever wore a flag pin. FOX NEWS brought that up as an argument against those who didn’t support the Shrub’s war in Iraq. If I have a flag on my porch, but don’t wear a CHINESE MADE pin, where is my patriotism? IMA, are you Hannity or O’Reilly in disguise?
