Ralston has a point, but the names of ancient gods are a bit of a muddle. Germanic Tyr etc. are from Proto-Indo-European *dyews, the word for the deified daytime sky, and the etymon of Greek Zeus, Sanskrit dyāus, Lat. Jūpiter (“sky father”), Jovis. The God of War thing is a little hard to fathom.
