The question is: why don’t YOU say it?

Val, if you were dating a 30-year-old, they’d be cheering you on, too.

Most guys probably secretly wish they were dating someone much younger too.

It’s so nice to know that at least some men (albeit fictional so far) can applaud an older woman who is dating a younger man.

Just so long as she obeys the rule of life for younger men - no younger than half your age plus 7 years - she’ll be fine!

This is all about jealousy. Evie is living the life of world traveller, having young man at her feet. While they, her daughters, slave at home doing family things. I guess they have imagine of what Evie should be doing in their heads verse what Evie actually want to do. I engaged with older woman, i totally agree with Evie decision. As long she and he are happy, who care about whiny children thing.

Yes, I think her daughters ARE just jealous (and Lucie seems to be looking to Val for a clue in panel 2 and then angry in 3). My own kids basically still think I should be working more hours, but if I can keep my bank account pretty level while working at things I ENJOY, using SSA to pay most of my bills and not drawing out more than the required amount from savings, I’m happy. More time to paint, read, cook, work out and enjoy my garden;-)

I sailed around the world for several years with a man 10 years my junior. My daughter said “Mother, why don’t you get a house with a porch like a normal grandmother”. I still treasure the memories of the sail - and that comment.

When my (now) wife and I got engaged and she told her boys, one of the first responses came from her daughter-in-law “How long have you been dating?” The answer was “a couple of months,” resulting in the question “What?!” What it left out was that we had been friends and coworkers for a long time before we started “dating.” But there is actually only a five-year difference in our age, so Evie is going a few years on us. The older you get, however, the less actual difference those years really makes.

Well, HectorPriam, if she gts him pregnant, I guess she’ll have to make an honest man out of him.

And it occurs to me to suggest that I sure hope you’re joking, or I shall be very disappointed in your education. :)

With a mom like Evie, how is Val such a stick-in-the-mud prude?
