In the scheme of things, best of the lot; now, will you buy it so we can move on to another theme?

No, honey, the swim suit doesn’t make you look fat.

When Cathy is drawn trying on clothes or swimsuits, she is shown in the exaggerated size her brain perceives her to be. In a normal , non-dressing room story arc, she is never shown to be overly heavy.

Most of the characters in the comic look the same size as Cathy. We only see the skinny drawn ones when she encounters the female sporty types, or store manikins.

I agree with what they’re saying. I am not overweight, but have a weird shape so sometimes I think clothes don’t look good on me. A nice, sincere compliment would go a long way with making me want to buy and wear something. Of course, don’t give me a fake compliment just to sell something, but it looks like Cathy needed a different mindset, so what Mabel said worked for Cathy.

With a body like that, a doctor would probably classify her obese. So is being obese healthy?

We’re now on our third week of Cathy’s newest search for the “perfect” bathing suit and it’s REALLY starting to make my head hurt. Can we PLEASE go back to shoe and boot shopping, the newest fad diet, her bat-crap crazy M-I-L ….. ANYTHING other than this?!? :-P

I like ‘zaftig.’ That one always makes me feel better about myself.

The sales clerk took a really good approach to the sale this time. Nice to see positive things said for a change. So now Cathy can confidently purchase this suit and never wear it anyway.

Friday eve already? Another really fast week has gone by but let us enjoy today before it is gone.

If I were the sales lady, I would be ready to tell her anything to get her out of the store…the suit looks great, the suit looks awful, the suits are all sold…anything.

Well, at least the saleswoman knows how to use a thesaurus …
