Pointless, I guess, to point out there are all sorts of restrictions after 24 weeks. Opponents just fantasize all sorts of scenarios where the doctor and patient could get by the restrictions, most of which would involve the doctor violating his Hippocratic oath.
I see the target has moved from “partial birth” to “late term.” I also see that pesky lack of context (in this case, what exactly constitutes “late term” to the cartoonist) is still firmly in place.
There are 2 doctors in the United States that will perform partial birth abortions. A partial birth abortion is only considered if there is no hope for the baby and the parent have had a great deal of consultation with the doctor.EVERY SINGLE PARENT PLANNED FOR AND WANTED TO HAVE THE BABY.It is heartbreaking for everyone involved. How about doing just a little smidge of research before you spit out uninformed information.
It’s hard to believe that there is any person alive that just wants to carry a baby for 8 months only to have it ripped from her womb. It’s also hard to believe that there are people that won’t allow any compassion for the poor woman that is going through this. Please people, look at reality not at rhetoric.
A decision to end a pregnancy should be between a woman, her partner and her doctor. It isn’t your business or mine. Also, if we really want to further decrease the need for abortion we need real sex education and affordable healthcare that provides birth control for all.
When you are in danger by your pregnancy, a luck in an accident is that if abortion is not allowed, you are still allowed to have a gun to shoot yourself.
This one has a drawing and an opinion. Good job, although this isn’t a take that Gary Varvel or Glenn McCoy haven’t already done with their cartoons of cute babies in the womb. They aren’t disposable until they get to school.
If you’re really “pro-life” why did you mock MSD students for trying to get congress to do something to stop mass shootings, drawing high school students as children to belittle them.https://www.gocomics.com/bobgorrell/2018/02/23Seems like a pretty pro-life position to not want kids to die in mass shootings
In todays world it strikes me as absurd that there are unwanted pregnancies. Condoms aren’t that expensive, and even the “pill” is ready available. But you can’t fix stupid. From an economic point of view, carrying the child to term and putting it up for adoption for a fee would be a much better solution for more people.
Don’t want abortions? Support Planned Parenthood, contraception, family planning, early prenatal care for those who can’t afford it, and guraranteed health care for all. Still don’t want an abortion, don’t have one.
The right wing-nuts treat this as approval of any abortion which of course it is not. But if the President doesn’t rely on professionals to determine who should or shouldn’t live, why should anyone defer to doctors who are trying to save lives not end them. If a child is born with catastrophic medical problems because “right to lifers” would prefer to kill the mother, then it is also reasonable to assume that Mr. Gorell and the people who liked his cartoon are available to look after the baby’s medical care and expenses.

The Republican version of the shirt has the arrow pointing at the mother.

GradingGorrell: well, there were only six mass shootings in the last four days; not like that’s a crisis or anything. Hardly even made the news.

When men carry the unborn, then and only then, can they have a say on what procedures the impregnated choose.

Meanwhile, Gorrell, his supporters, and even the commenters who are criticizing him seem to be ignoring the many children who are killed after birth.
Is slow, painful (often extending over years) death from “caretaker” neglect or abuse not as much about “life” as the death of a fetus?
