Filet mignon is a cut of meat taken from the smaller end of the tenderloin, or psoas major of a cow. In French, it mostly refers to cuts of pork tenderloin. The tenderloin runs along both sides of the spine, and is usually butchered as two long snake-shaped cuts of meat. The tenderloin is sometimes sold whole.

Isn’t that just a fancy meat dish?

Nate once mentioned Filet Mignon in a love poem to Jenny.

Well, well, well!

First of all, lovely. Finally, some soft romance!

Secondly, I find that first kiss (if it really is their first kiss) and line from Daphne quite interesting! Ofc the easy interpretation is that Daphne is insulting Nate, saying he’s fat or unattractive or stuff, at least compared to a hunk. But I actually think this is Daphne proving that she likes Nate for who he is, not who he isn’t. She PREFERS hamburger (Nate) because he makes her happy. It might be a slightly backhanded compliment but it’s her way of settling Nate’s insecurity, which has dominated the last two Lab Duo arcs.

Besides that, it’s also fascinating to me that their first kiss is almost unceremoniously shown, there to reassure Nate. Heck, maybe they already kissed! But onscreen, this is the first, a stark contrast. Angie, Kelly, Trudy, even Ruby, all kissed him in markedly dramatic ways, with Nate being shocked and lovestruck, proof of their beginning relationship.

Daphne kisses him because she wants to reassure him, instead of shoot down his concerns.

Also the punchline is one of the best of the year, legit hilarious!!

10\10, maybe too high but idc. Hopefully we get a romantic letter, and or some adorable longing from Daphne. And hopefully the rest of the summer brings back some characters, like Francis, Teddy, Dee Dee, Dad, etc.

Filet mignon is delicious the few times I’ve had it. But for everyday fare, I have no problem with hamburger. I’m more comfortable with it. She’s saying she’s comfortable with you Nate. I’d take it as a compliment.

The problem with filet mignon is that it’s small. If you send that much on a steak in a restaurant, you don’t want to still be hungry. I remember years ago, when my then-teenage brother ordered it in a restaurant. When they brought it, he thought they were bringing him a piece to taste. To see if it met with his approval.

When will it dawn on Nate that he just got dissed? I no longer eat meat, but I liked a great BBQ’d cheeseburger over most steaks. Prefer Impossible Burger now.

For those saying he got dissed: Daphne is literally saying she’s happy with who he is, even tho he isn’t strong (which we all know, he’s a weakling tiny guy). It IS a compliment, just unconventional. Nuance, people.

Will the fact that she kissed him hit him on his walk home? He’s so worried about her finding another guy that he didn’t realize she kissed him. I’d like to see him have a big reaction to the kiss…like he would faint or something on the way home…

I know she was intending to be sweet, as in “There may be other guys that look so much better than you, but I’d never lose you.”, but that honestly made it seem like a bad thing LOL

Yay she actually kissed him on the cheek! She’s a loyal girl, and guys aren’t trying to steal her from Nate. Nate, you better not screw this up like you did with Kelly.
