I renounced organized sports fandom in 2005.
I’m like that. I never cared much for football, but I ran a weekly pool at one job and then I followed the games. Now I don’t care much for football.
Skin in the game? He should start watching women’s beach volleyball.
I rooted for Michigan to beat Ohio State. Didn’t watch the game, but signed online later to see the result. Much pleasure, less stress.

Since sports betting became legal in IN and MI recently, there are unending ads for sports book apps to put on your phone. At least half a dozen different ones. And they all claim you can’t possibly lose . . .it’ll be fun . . . No, thanks.
