Inadvertently, the cartoonist explains the main problem of those so quick to criticize the president. They don’t LISTEN. While the backdrop might have been better thought through, focusing on that alone and not the words is like the little kid saying, “Lalalalalala, I’m not listening”
Biden spoke here in WI, Monday at Labor Fest. Here’s a snippet:
“I want to be very clear up front: Not every Republican is a MAGA Republican. Not every Republican embraces that extreme ideology. I know because I’ve been able to work with mainstream Republicans my whole career.
But the extreme MAGA Republicans in Congress have chosen to go backwards — full of anger, violence, hate, and division.
But together, we can and we must choose a different path: forward. (Applause.) No, I really mean it. We have to. A future of unity, of hope, of optimism. We’re going to choose to build a better America — a better America."
He had similar comments in his national speech. Maybe, the focus should be on the words rather than the visuals?
They say President Biden offended 68 million trump voters with his speech. I don’t care. The magas lost their right to be offended when they backed the lies about the 2020 election; furthermore, if they start violence, they are free to lose their lives like the fool that attacked an FBI office.
329.5 million people are in the united states, making their movement worth a little over 20% of the country’s population. They are ignorant, simple-mind, and vocal, but they are not near a majority. The maga only succeed when they make reasonable people feel they are alone in their resistance to autocratic rule. Those who value democracy are not alone.
We need everyone to show up in November to vote for democracy, women’s rights, and the rule of law. Show the magas they are not representative of our country.
So, the man who campaigned that he wanted to unite the country, is now delivering speeches about how half the country are traitors and fascists, while standing on a blood red stage, while flanked by soldiers and waving his fists around like Hitler.
What really offends me here is the suggestion that if you don’t like what is being said, turn it off. Ignore it.
It is MUCH better to listen to the swill, the propaganda, the lies, even as sickening as it might be, and UNDERSTAND where the other side is. Without understanding who they are, you will not be able to overcome them.
Stay close to your enemies so you know what they’re doing.
Why are you, as an editorial cartoonist against the truth? (This is rhetorical in the sense that you are essentially a propagandist and not an editorial cartoonist.) Why do you willingly embrace fascism and hate the United States and a democratic-republican form of government?

Speaking of unity and working together to make America better grates on the nerves of the MAGA cohort who seek authoritarian rule and exclusion.

Evidently, she’s either never been at a MAGA meeting or the truth hurts

Poor little insurrectionists, all torn up because their group attacking Congress is considered a threat to the country.

The truth hurts.
“Let me never fall into the vulgar mistake of dreaming that I am persecuted whenever I am contradicted.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson
“Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.” – Buddha
“Truth will always be truth, regardless of lack of understanding, disbelief or ignorance.” – W. Clement Stone
“Truth sounds like hate to those who hate the truth.” -Todd Wagner
“The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. – Winston Churchill
