I wonder if any of the actors who were in “The
Wizard of Oz” are still living. I know the four main
    characters are gone now.

Two of the original Munchkins are still alive. Margaret Pellegrini is 89 and Ruth Duccini is 94.

The system works in Britain and other places, why wouldn’t it work in the U.S.? I know where I would rather get sick.

Two of the Munchkins lived in Princeton NJ as did Margaret Hamilton. (She lived with her sister. It’s close to NYC where she was doing commercials) Shortly after seeing The Wizard of Oz for the first time (age seven) my mother and I ran into Margaret Hamilton at the grocery store. Yikes!!!!

Although I agree that O care is not the best plan, it is very hard for me to believe that the richest country in the world can not afford health care for it’s citizens, when much poorer countries can. This is about the people that control the corporations not wanting to pay the taxes that their peers do in other countries and about an out of control military/industrial complex. We hand out billions to many different countries, we act as the world’s police(only when it is in the corpacrats best interest, and we just toss away the old and sick. What is wrong here?

Sadly the Tin Man suit(along with the Wicked Witch costume)
has been lost in the shuffle..This months Smithsonian magazine said they do have the hat though as well as one set
of Dorothy’s Ruby Slippers. They also have the head of the
Cowardly Lion..Many items were auctioned off by MGM
    in 1970..

Was discharged from the hospital last month. The bill was $11,477.43 for a 24 hour stay! My total co-pay was $68.73. Now ask me why I have a “I Love Obamacare” bumper sticker on my car. The co-pay would be even less when “Ocare” goes into effect.

You are right about the British system being broke. It is and always was, imperfect, but many people owe their lives to it. Where I now live, there is a three-part system where the government picks up part of the bill, the employer-provided insurance picks up part, and the patient pays an affordable part. Even that is being strained by the lack of tax-payers and the number of elderly, but it still works well for most. And those with no jobs and/or no money qualify for free treatment. No system is perfect, but the pre Obamacare system in the US is one of the least perfect for the most people. Still rather get sick in Britain or here, or Canada or almost anywhere but the States. Luckily, when I lived in America, I had good health insurance provided by my husband’s non-American employer or our medical bills would have impoverished us..
