    Where did assad get them (if he really has them)? From sodom hussein. Where did sodom hussein get them to use on the Kurds and the Iranians? From the USA during the Reagan administration. (BTW, yes I know it’s sadam, not sodom)

    @Debt Free

    The proof has been arond for over 10 years, and was highlighted in the news again recently. In 2002, Michael Dobbs (of the Washington Post) disclosed declassified documents that confirmed this. Within his article is the quote, “The administrations of Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush authorized the sale to Iraq of numerous items that had both military and civilian applications, including poisonous chemicals and deadly biological viruses, such as anthrax and bubonic plague.”

    Assad has had chemical weapons for some time and until only recently become an “enemy.”

    US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld helped Saddam Hussein build up his arsenal of deadly chemical and biological weapons, it was revealed last night.
    United States support for Iraq during the Iran–Iraq War, against post-revolutionary Iran, included several billion dollars worth of economic aid, the sale of dual-use technology, non-U.S. origin weaponry, military intelligence, Special Operations training, and direct involvement in warfare against Iran.34
    CIA documents show U.S. helped Iraq fight Iran despite chemical weapons use…
    Start being intelligent yourself.

    The allegation has been made that the chemical weapons were not actually used by Assad’s forces but foreign forces fighting in the country. That I think is where the consideration “(if he really has them).” came from.

    FNC”???? And a military expert? Surely you are smart enough to know that Faux “News” Channel selected the “expert” because he was willing to say what they needed him to say to substantiate their biased half-truth story. And sorry that Clark Kent had the audacity to speak the truth about ronnie raygun and illegal sales of arms and chemical weapons to foreign entities. So who really is the traitor? he who speaks truth, or he who illegally helped those who became our enemies? Think slowly, we don’t want you shooting off your mouth with a hald-cocked idea.

    Tigger, giving Saddam chemical and biological weapons in the 80s does not mean he had them 15 years later. If you read the 2002 article, you’d see that we knew Saddam was using them regularly against the Iranians back then. And they don’t have an indefinite shelf-life. The fact that UN inspectors couldn’t find them in 2002-2003 weighs heavier than “well, we gave him some 15 years ago, and we don’t know how much he used or disposed of, or whether what he has is still potent.” Going to war requires a higher degree of certainty, assuming that was really the reason we went in.
