You’re blaming Obama for this? The same people who keep calling him a “socialist” and accuse him of trying to redistribute the wealth are going to try and blame him for the ever-widening gap between the rich and the poor?
Bravo! For such unbelievable chutzpah you deserve a huge gaudy medal.

Maybe he was talking about the improved dental care options in the ACA?
There’s nothing wrong with being rich, but there is something wrong in not investing in the society that made and kept you rich. Carnegie and JP Morgan and many other of our “robber barons” used the gov’t to make themselves wealthy, but then turned around and helped that same nation when it was in need. Our international economy is such that when the wealthy see our nation in need, they just invest in currencies of other countries. We need a better class of the upper class. Too few Buffetts and Gates and way too many Goldman Sachs.
    Respectfully,
    C.

Oh, now you’re asking for it. Either to be attacked for “rich envy” or “wealth envy” or being dismissed for speaking truth.
    .
Regardless I agree with you 100%. I think you distilled the problem down to it’s very essence, lack of compassion and no “debt of gratitude” to the very country that allowed the person to become wealthy, or as you put it much better, “not investing in the society that made and kept you rich.” I believe it comes back to the “I got mine, to he!! with you” mentality. Which while the domain of republicans and CONservatives that mentality is shared by so many who “made it” despite their political affiliation.

Remember, to him, everything bad is Obama’s fault, even if he wasn’t even elected when it happened.
In his mind, if we had a completely Republican rulership (note I didn’t say “government”) and nuked Iran, everyone would suddenly have a job and gas would be a dollar a gallon.

Eventually we will reach a tipping point and the rich will have no place to hide and no one to protect them. They could use some of their wealth to prevent this from ever happening, but they are too consumed by their greed. The masses may still be poor, but at least there will finally be the level playing field that supposedly is a characteristic of true capitalism.

Only small start-ups create new jobs. Mergers eliminates jobs and businesses.

The problem is that the richest have been manipulating govt to make them 275% richer while the poorest get 16% when that should be reversed. The more money in circulation the richer and more stable we will all be. The Super Rich are greedy and want the old days of the the Rich and poor. Middle Class only appeared between 1945-1980 when it reached its peak. Then the Oligarchs and Plutocrats started to wear it down.

The population is growing but our economy has been shrinking with each jobless recovery.

The rich will always have protection. When they are given free license to kill to protect themselves as in “stand your ground” then they will use their own goon squads to mow down anyone trying to breech their walls.

    Precisely.

All of these other (to paraphrase one of them) sheeple- or are they really the trolls- are completely misconstruing what we’re saying. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH BEING RICH!!!! I Am Not Envious! Steve Jobs is a hero. He earned every one of those billion pennies.

Thank you R. Troll for underscoring this- there are too few Jobs (hmm. Is there a pun in there?) and Gates, etc and too many Banksters.

It’s amazing that the current crop of robber barons makes the old crop look positively altruistic!!
