    Does the new lighting have battery back up with a generator coming on line within a minute after that? If not why not?

    @Clark Kent

    Because it was not necessary.

    Having escalators that don’t work isn’t exactly “luxurious.” Lots of people rely on the Metro, and given DC traffic (and intersections), that’s an excellent idea.

    The Metro is very important and needs to function well in order to aid in transportation needs. What is your damage today?

    The Metro has gotten worse and worse. A(nother) disaster waiting to happen.

    I commuted on the metro for years into DC. I still prefer it to driving into the city.

    I have used the Metro on the few occasions I have been in DC. I agree with Pirate227, it beats driving. Only complaint is that it shuts down at 11 pm.

    I take the DC Metro daily… its not bad. Can it be better? of course… but its not bad. Tom makes some great observations about it though.
