It might just be useful if you and others would read the entire 2nd amendment to the US Constitution.
This amendment was NOT written so that people could either own firearms necessarily or form militias to protect themselves from the federal government.
It WAS written so that the federal government could depend upon an armed populace being able to form such militias (which are now called the National Guard) to protect the federal government FROM insurgencies (such as the Confederacy during the Civil War) both without (by foreign invasion) and within the US itself.
Hopefully, the intelligent citizens of this great country do not feel that they ever will need to protect themselves from the very government that they themselves have elected!!
That is the true essence of a democratic republic, even if it also has some degree of socialism as a part of its makeup!!
If you and others here do not understand that , then your knowledge of American History is extremely shallow and limited.

And how, perchance, is he holding it incorrectly? I shot rifles as a scout, and couldn’t figure out why my aim was off. It took someone with more experience than my Scoutmaster to show me how to properly hold a weapon. Maybe it takes a Secret Service agent with some balls to actually correct a POTUS?

The founders did not share your zeal for Govn. The Constitutions purpose is to protect the people from those in power.
Your logic is faulty in that the 2nd Amend. also arms the insurgency.
Americans have the right to keep and bare arms, this right shall not be infringed. An attempt to do so is impeachable. The duty of our leaders is to protect the Constitution, not undermine the protections it offers the people.

There are currently limits on weapons you can own, this is not infringing on your rights. The assault weapon part is not workable, it depends on what a gun LOOKS like more than anything. But background checks (which ths NRA used to support) and banning large magazines should be done.

The Second Amendment does not confer any rights at all. It simply confirms the existence of one of the most important rights so that government would not be tempted to infringe upon it. As for the purpose, the founders wrote many articles about it, and it is indeed so that people could protect themselves from their government.

I am right and have been shown I should shoot left, so what. But I have seen enough skeet that you do not hold it parallel to the ground, that far up the barrel that high or that close to your cheek. And I always thought you used a shot gun?
Like I said feels staged for someone who claims " Obama responded to a question about whether he had fired a gun before. “Up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time,” Obama said in an interview published January 27th by The New Republic."
